Enough is Enough! No Israel,.. No More Violence… Give Palestinians Their Country Back!

I am infuriated by the madness that is currently ongoing in the Middle East. Israel yesterday bombed a hospital, killing 500 civilians. The attack was a revenge attack after Hamas, a Palestinian military group (designated as a terrorist organization by numerous nations) raged through parts of Israel near Gaza and killed hundreds.

What Hamas did was wrong and I would like to condemn the acts of violence they undertook and to condemn terrorism as a whole. However, what Israel is doing in reply is even worse, now bombing a hospital, a place where the Red Cross had asked for people to be sheltered for some safety.

This Monster is Your Own Creation Israel

Looking back at history, the Palestinian cause and the consequent conflict is a creation of Israel. It is Israel who annexed huge swathes of Palestine and grabbed the country, locking Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. To put this in perspective, think of how it would feel if another country’s people migrated into your country in their hundreds of thousands, and took it to be their own.

Israel overrun the Palestinians in the late 40s, declaring themselves a republic after a UN vote for a partition of Palestine into two nations, one the Republic of Israel and the other Palestine. This decision emboldened the settlers to start a systemic oppression of the natives (Palestinians) culminating in the current Israel-Palestine war.

The Only Just Cause is the Palestinian Cause

Despite failing in their methods of expressing their displeasure with their oppression, the Palestinians have a right as human beings to claim their unalienable right to life, a country, and sovereignty. Hamas, a defacto Palestinian army and ruling organization of Gaza, has every right to defend Palestine and its people, whatever the cost. Yes, they did wrong to attack innocent Israeli civilians and yes I condemn their actions.

Even so, Palestinians have a fundamental right to ask for an end to their oppression by Israel. The Palestinians have every right to cause hell on earth until they are heard. As such, it is very displeasing to see the international community and especially the Western World rally behind the oppressor, Israel.

Historical Oppression

The Israelis have for nearly eight decades clamped down on Palestinians, treating them like foreigners in their own country. This nonsense must stop! There is no justice or morality in denying an entire nation their country or even oppressing them violently day in and day out.

The current war was bound to happen as Israel has for too long been left to do as it wishes when it comes to the Palestinians. Now, Palestine has spoken and it is about time the international community listened.

Israeli War Crimes and the Affront of Biden’s Visit

Bombing a hospital goes against the Geneva Convention and is an affront to everything humane. The killing of 500 people at the Al-ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza is the latest and biggest war crime Israel has committed so far, and what’s more shocking is that the US president is on his way to Israel to “show support”. A whole American president who’s as old as Methuselah dropped everything to run to console a foreign dictatorship, and support them when they are killing hundreds.

Joe Biden has gotten a lot right as POTUS but he’s undoing all his good deeds with this one act. In my view, he should turn Air Force One around and go back home and first deal with the burgeoning homelessness in America, the rising costs of healthcare, and the increasing rents and overall cost of living.

America has no business meddling in the affairs of the Middle East especially when it has historically found every excuse to cause and even fight “forever wars”. Going by just what happened a year or two ago in Afghanistan, where the US abandoned a country it started a war in only for a terrorist organization to take over, the US has no moral or legal authority to meddle in the Middle East. Go home, Biden. Just go home and do what is right by Americans and the Palestinians.

The Rejection of the Palestinians by the West

For too long, the Palestinians have been rejected by the West, and their cries for help have gone unheard. It is the U.S. that, back in 1948, swayed two small nations to vote for a partition of then Palestine into what we now know today as Israel and Palestine (majorly Gaza and the occupied West Bank). Europe, America, and the Western world as a whole have continually rejected the Palestinians and their cause, and have been enablers of the atrocities currently ongoing in Gaza.

It is a shame that the entire West has supported Israel blindly, turning a blind eye to the atrocities that they and their military have committed over decades against the Palestinians. This hypocrisy of pretending to care for Israel at the expense of the Palestinians must stop! Europe, America, and the entire West must wake up to reality and demand that Israel rights its wrongs, returns occupied land, and frees the Palestinians to live in their country, along with and side-by-side with Israel’s people.

Better than a Two-State Solution

A two-state solution has been historically proposed but I think the international community can do one better and ask that Israel and Palestine be merged under one nation: a Palestinian nation. If this is impossible, then divide the country into two and give one half to Israel and the other to Palestine. Let Jerusalem be like the Vatican, a state of its own, and let a council of religious leaders be elected, led by a pope or imam, to rule itself and be neither part of Israel nor Palestine.

Carve Out Religion, Carve Out Jerusalem

If it is religion that is causing all this bloodshed, then maybe Jerusalem shouldn’t be part of any country. Let all religions be represented there and let it become its own state. I don’t think God or Allah or the Supreme Being would approve of all this bloodshed. In my view, the ‘promised land’ was not a literal promise that Israel is the land that was promised to Israelites or whoever, but was instead a promise for land, anywhere on the planet and not necessarily in Palestine. What good is religion if it is killing entire populations?
