Arsenal Draw Liverpool as Both Teams Compete for EPL Table Leadership
The highlight of GW 18 so far, was the clash between Arsenal and Liverpool at Anfield just a week after Liverpool drew Manchester United at the same venue. Arsenal drew Liverpool 1-1, with Gabriel Magalhaes opening the score for ‘The Gunners’ in just the fourth minute. Before long, however, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah equalized, with a fantastic 29th minute strike.

Arsenal is Top of EPL Standings for Now
As a result of the draw, Arsenal remain top of the EPL table with 40 points, with Liverpool second with 39 points. Both teams played satisfactorily well and we are excited to see how the brawl for the top spot intensifies in the coming gameweeks.
West Ham Nick Man United
Man United, despite drawing Liverpool in gameweek 17, were in over their heads when it came to West Ham. West Ham nicked Man United 2-0, in what was a fantastic case of a good team getting ever better and a great team faltering and wasting their chance for glory. Jarod Bowen put West Ham ahead in the 72nd minute, with Mohammed Kudus making it two six minutes later.
Woe Man Utd
Man United didn’t manage even a single reply goal, essentially handling West Ham the three points. United tried their best but just lacked the edge to get themselves composed and not be too defensive in their play. At this rate, Man United may end up beneath the top 10 in the EPL Table, a fate that would be very unfortunate for a team of their stature.
Tottenham Beat Everton
Unlike Man Utd who’re struggling to get an edge, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have been thriving, with the latest installment of their success coming against Everton. Spurs beat Everton 2-1, thanks to a Richarlison goal in the 9th minute that was followed up by Son Heung-Min’s in the 18th minute. Andre Gomes scored the reply goal for Everton in the 82nd minute. Spurs have done quite well so far and are fourth in the EPL Table with 36 points.
Luton Give Newcastle a Taste of the Underdogs
In a fascinating turn of events, recent league entrants Luton Town beat Newcastle 1-0 after Andros Townsend converted in the 25th minute. Luton have been struggling since joining the EPL but they gave Newcastle a taste of the underdogs and a dose of their own medicine. Newcastle have been the underdogs for the last few seasons and since they brought on Eddie Howe, have become more of the giants. It must have been humbling to feel what it is like to be beaten by a ‘small’ team.
