Reddit is Down for About 3 Hours Now

πŸ’‘ Before we get started, start your web journey with a domain name and hosting plan from Dreamhost.

As yours truly was nosing about trying to bring you the latest on Reddit, it wasn't working. I use Reddit on the web via desktop and was kinda confused to find that I had been logged out. I also couldn't access r/maniaincc, our subreddit which is usually the first Reddit link that appears in my search suggestions when I type 'r'. After some research, I've discovered that Reddit is experiencing an outage.

Reddit Has Been Down for About 3 Hours

In what is a very rare occurrence, it appears that something has gone wrong with Reddit's systems for the third hour now. The outage, Reddit Status reports, affects Reddit on Desktop and Mobile, with a partial outage on their Native Web App. What this means is app users may experience a pretty broken interface that may show posts but not comment threads, as per the verge. Reddit is making light of the situation, however, saying that they'll be "up and running again soon."

Enjoy the productivity. We'll be up and running again soon.

Reddit Says They've Found a Fix

Reddit, via their Reddit Status page on Twitter, have since notified users that they've "identified a fix which may take some time to implement", and will be getting their systems back online as soon as possible.
