Real Madrid are the UEFA Champions League 2021/22 Winners

Real Madrid beat all odds to get to the UEFA Champions League Final and beat their rivals, Liverpool, 1-0, becoming the UCL 2021/22 winners. The winning goal was scored by Vinicius Jr. in the 59th minute with an assist from Valverde.

A Deserved Win

Real Madrid have had a phenomenal season. They went against all odds to beat huge European clubs and clinch a spot at the UCL Final. As one commentator put it, they have been “in love” with the UCL Cup this season and their passion for the game saw them have “magic carpet” wins again and again. Real Madrid are now European Champions for the 14th time and the UCL Trophy is now back to its spiritual home in Madrid, Spain.

A Liverpool Out of Luck

Liverpool have had a significantly unlucky run this season, first by losing out on the English Premier League title with one point, and then losing the UCL Final and consequently the UEFA Champions League title by a single goal. Despite winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, Liverpool ran out of luck when they most needed it; in contesting the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

Even so, they are still champions in their own right and have done impeccably in most if not all of the leagues they have participated in. They did their best and their captain Henderson was the standout in the UCL Final and is now the first English player to captain his team through 3 UCL finals.

Golden Boot Benzema

Benzema has had a phenomenal run this season at the helm of Real Madrid. His chemistry with his coach Carlo Ancelotti and other players such as Vinicius Jr. has been impeccable. This tight-knit relationship between fellow players and their manager has seen Real Madrid get past opponent after opponent and become European Champions.

Benzema has played an integral part in Real Madrid’s success and scored the most goals in the UCL 2021/22. Benzema was the top scorer for the UCL 2021/22 with 15 goals, followed by Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski who scored 13. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah came in fourth with 8 goals. In third place was Ajax’s Sebastien Haller.

Courtois Undoubtedly Man of the Match in the UCL 2021/22 Final

The UEFA Champions League 2021/22 final was a thrill to watch, especially when it came to Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who did an impeccable job catching the ball. Liverpool made numerous shots on target during the game, and Courtois caught all of them. He was very alert and intervened, saving Real from conceding any goals during the game. He performed impeccably well and is now a European Champion in his own right.

Marcelo may be On His Way Out

Real Madrid’s Captain, Marcelo, received the Champions League trophy after realizing his dreams for European Championship and tearing up when Real won the match and the UCL. He is said to likely be on his way out of Real Madrid but will leave a European Champion.

Champion Tactician Ancelotti

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has done an impeccable job with his team and is a champion tactician in his own right. Ancelotti has an impressive track record of wins and has won the UEFA Champions League four times; twice with AC Milan and now twice with Real Madrid. Congratulations to Real Madrid and their manager Carlo Ancelotti.
