No Mashujaa Day 2024 is a day celebrating the true heroes of Kenya if we do not remember, acknowledge, and celebrate the 61 fallen Gen Z Heroes who lost their lives during the June 2024 anti-bad governance protests. The 61, mostly young Kenyans ranging from 18 to 30 years old, are and will always remain the true heroes of modern Kenya. Their lives and the sacrifices they made will always accord us the responsibility of honoring their lives by pushing for better governance; scratch that, demanding better governance.

Kenya Killed Its Children
Kenya is a land of many surprises but the most jarring one is that it killed 61 of its children for demanding a fairer, well-governed, and accountable society. The Kenyan police — the individuals who are responsible for protecting the citizens — took up arms against the very citizens who pay them and killed them for nothing else but exercising their constitutional right to protest; a grand betrayal and one that we shall never forget.
The KK Regime
The Kenya Kwanza regime, led by the chief perpetrator, its head, did the very thing that went against his core mandate to protect the people; and ordered the forces against the Gen Zs. His government, the sham that it is, is funded by the painful sweat, blood, and tears of hardworking Kenyans.
Today, they are in Kwale ‘celebrating’ Mashujaa Day 2024, oblivious of the monumental storm that is coming. The man and his band of puppets are so happy to play the role of individuals who care for the plight of Kenyan citizens, yet it is so easy for them to order their children killed on the streets — for speaking out against his carcass of a government.
The People are Maniacal
As he celebrates in Kwale, he should know this: the people of Kenya are mad. In fact, they are maniacal, and they remember. The people of Kenya have not shown you yet what they are capable of. You may have or think you have all the power and might of the police, army, and money to bribe whomever you wish, but they have something you never will: true power and influence.

True Power
The people are sovereign and they are the lords of this nation. Each and every Kenyan wields a sword more powerful than any the president ever will: they are the sovereign. They have the power.
And to someone like him, power may mean money, command, and propaganda but to the patriotic people of this country, power goes beyond all that. Power to the Kenyan citizen is knowledge, ideas, patriotism, kindness, generosity, and unity. Power to me as a Kenyan is my words, my letters, and the accumulation of thought and putting it down.
Mr. Oppressor
Therefore, celebrate if you will Mr. Oppressor, but know that the day of change is coming. Like a mad storm looking to eat out everything in its path, the storm of change is coming to Kenya and it is raging on; building its anger and might every single day.
The People Will NEVER Forget
The people will never forget what this government did to the 61 fallen Gen Z heroes and they will never forget the feeling they felt seeing David Chege’s body lying outside parliament — with a stream of blood flowing from the bullet to the head the police afforded him.
The people will never forget Evans Kiratu’s mother screaming “they killed my child and they are arresting me!” The people will never forget the nights of terror that befell the people of Ongata Rongai and Zimmerman — when hoards of blood-thirsty police officers descended on them wielding weapons and driving water cannons — that they used to pelt crowd-control liquids into people’s houses. The people will never forget.
@thebonifacemwangi Zakayo killed innocent people for carrying our national flag. He saw it as a weapon. Indeed it’s our weapon against the grotesque greed of a corrupt regime. Our flag is now liberated, and we must replace the picture of Zakayo in our offices, and businesses and hang the flag. Do it proudly. bonifacemwangi #rutomustgo #ruto
The Highest Price of Them All
For every youth killed in the Gen Z protests, a million Kenyans will be freed of this tyrannical government. For every fallen hero, 61 generations of Kenyans will live free in an egalitarian, prosperous, peaceful, accountable, and law-abiding society. A society led by well-meaning leaders who respect not only the law but are also human enough to understand that a society is as good as perished if it does not care for its children.

The Raging Storm
Therefore, as we celebrate Mashujaa Day 2024, let’s celebrate the oncoming storm. As the Bible says, the Israelites marked their doors with blood from a lamb to wade off the angel of death; I urge you to mark yours with the beautiful colors of the Kenyan flag.
For the storm is coming and it is raging hard. Like the angel of death, it will consume all in its path, except those who have marked their hearts with true humanity, goodness, and respect for the rule of law.
The Kenyan Flag
The Kenyan national flag has 4 colors: green for the earth, white for peace, black for the people, and red for our fallen heroes. Etch it into your heart because to be Kenyan is not only being associated with this country, to be Kenyan is to be patriotic. It is putting your rage where your mouth is. It’s wielding your flag and calling out injustice.
We can’t afford fear. If we do, then they will have already won.
To be Kenyan is to embody the coming storm, wielding your pen as you would a rifle, and calling for a sea of change in how this country is governed. To be Kenyan is to say: Ruto Must Go! Kufa Makanga Kufa Dereva! To be Kenyan is to say: Kenya ni Home!
And we are not going anywhere. This country is our home and hell shall break loose before we allow it to go down the drain to satisfy the greed, insolence, and murderous tendencies of a few despots in power.
You Are the Storm Kenya!
You are the storm Kenya. You are the raging storm, beating and bellowing like the depths of hell; raging in the direction of the oppressors; consuming all the knowledge to empower you, to not only take down the despots but also free yourself of their manipulation.
