Manchester United and Juventus secured a crucial lead in their Europa League Round of 16 Knockout stage first-leg matches, showing they are keen to make it to the quarterfinals. United did phenomenally well, especially after losing out in a very big way to Liverpool in the English Premier League last week. Read more about that below.

Man United Bounce Back After Biggest Loss in Almost a Century

Manchester United bounced back from their biggest loss in almost a century in the Europa League Round of 16 Leg 1 matchup against Real Betis, winning the game 4-1. The team played superbly well and were hungry for the goals in a way we thought was commendable. Man United's lead came early in the 6th minute with Marcus Rashford opening scoring. Betis's Ayoze Perez then made a reply in the 32nd minute, only for United to come back and score an additional three goals.

Antony for the Goal as Weghorst Gets His First European Goal for Manchester United

Man United's Antony scored a superb goal from a curve ball from his left foot in the 52nd minute, making it 2-1 for United. He was phenomenal on the pitch and showed real G.O.A.T potential if he keeps playing as he does.

United's third goal came from a relentless Bruno Fernandes, captain of Utd, in the 58th minute, followed by a much-deserved goal by Wout Weghorst in the 82nd minute. Weghorst's goal was his first European goal for Man United and his second for the club overall. Even better, it was his first home goal at Old Trafford.

Juve Beat SC Freiburg to Secure a Crucial Knockout Stage First Leg Goal

On the other hand, Juventus beat SC Freiburg 1-0, securing a much-needed Europa League Knockout Stage First Leg Goal. Juve played phenomenally well despite missing Paul Pogba. Pogba had been late and was not allowed to play the game. Could Juve have done better with him on the pitch?.. I guess we'll never know. Juventus' only goal for the match was scored by Angel Di Maria in the 53rd minute.

Arsenal Draw 2-2 with Sporting Lisbon

Arsenal, on their part, drew 2-2 with Sporting CP, despite a stellar effort to garner as many goals as possible. Both teams played very well and were deserving of many more goals. Sporting themselves weren't bad at all and managed to end the game in a draw.

Arsenal's goals were scored by William Saliba in the 22nd minute and the second was a deflection by Sporting's Hidemasa Morita and an own goal. Sporting CP's goals were scored by Goncalo Inacio in the 34th minute and Paulinho in the 55th minute.

Other Europa League Round of 16 Knockout Stage First Leg Results

In other Europa League Round of 16 Knockout Stage First Leg results, Sevilla beat Fenerbahce 2-0, Shakhtar Donetsk drew 1-1 with Feyenoord, and Union Berling drew 3-3 with Union Saint-Gilloise. All the teams will face off again in the Europa League Round of 16 Leg 2 matches.
