Liverpool Draws Crystal Palace as Man United are Stung by Brentford

Gameweek 2 of the EPL just went by with Liverpool drawing Crystal Palace 1-1 as Manchester United were stung by Brentford 4-0.

Liverpool Draw Crystal Palace

Liverpool drew Crystal Palace 1-1 with Winfred Zaha opening the scoring with a beautiful counter-attack. Liverpool’s Luis Diaz made a reply with the equalizer which was a beautiful center-box volley. The game also took a turn for the dramatic as Darwin Nunez was handed a red card for head-butting a Crystal Palace player, Joachim Andersen.

Manchester United Get Stung by Brentford

Man United, on their part, got stung 4-0 by Brentford with ‘the Bees’ kicking off their EPL 22/23 campaign on a high. Brentford’s goals were superb and very telling of a Manchester United that is deflated and just immobile on the pitch and on the drawing board.

Chelsea Draws Tottenham with Conte and Tuchel Heading Off

Chelsea drew Tottenham 2-2 in what was a heated match that saw managers Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel head off against one another. Tottenham played phenomenally, as we had expected, while Chelsea were too on edge to execute the game amicably. Either way, no team walked off with bragging rights and both coaches probably need to apologize to one another for the delinquent exchange.

Nottingham Forest Beat West Ham

Nottingham Forest beat West Ham 1-0, surmounting their determination to have an impact in the Premier League. West Ham, on their part, it seems, underestimated the newly promoted Nottm Forest thinking that they would be terrible in their play, much to their surprise.

Manchester City and Arsenal Shine

Manchester City beat Bournemouth 4-0, a strong statement to other league contenders that City is keen to retain the title championship. On the other hand, Arsenal beat Leicester City 4-2, a surprisingly strong start to the season for an otherwise flailing Arsenal. Arsenal fans have been bragging a lot these past two gameweeks and we are keen to see if the team keeps up the momentum. Leicester did well but were just outmatched. You can imagine Gabriel Jesus is now part of Arsenal’s arsenal.

Southampton Draw Leeds United

Southampton drew Leeds United 2-2 in a game that spoke volumes of the dwindling performance of a team that was once on the come-up. Southampton is a team that is potentially top-four material but has been flailing like an Arsenal not on steroids. Leeds United, on the other hand, put up a decent fight and it seems, are happy to live to fight another season.

Other Games: Goalless Draws for Wolves and Brighton

Wolves drew 0-0 with Fulham as did Brighton, who drew 0-0 with Newcastle. The four teams are starting to court relegation just in gameweek two and should honestly just pull up their socks. Shouldn’t there be a Premier League B? Where teams that are EPL material but just poor performers play?
