HRH Queen Elizabeth II Passes On Aged 96

Buckingham Palace yesterday announced that Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II passed on yesterday afternoon at Balmoral Castle. The Queen’s Dead. As if the last two years have not been tragic enough, the United Kingdom and the World have lost their longest-serving monarch. Queen Elizabeth the Second served as the Queen of the United Kingdom for more than 70 years. Her loss sends a whirlwind of grief all over the world as the U.K. now ushers in a new king, King Charles the Third. Prince Charles will be the oldest person ever to assume the British throne at 73 years of age.

Long Live Queen Elizabeth!

Queen Elizabeth was born Princess Elizabeth of York on 21st April 1926 in Mayfair, London, United Kingdom. She was the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Her father ascended to the throne in 1936 after the abdication of King Edward VII.

How Old was Princess Elizabeth when She Became Queen?

When her father passed on in February of 1952, Elizabeth became the queen of seven independent countries aged 25. These countries include the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ceylon (later Sri Lanka), Pakistan, and South Africa. Elizabeth was crowned queen in 1953 and was the longest-living and longest-reigning British Monarch. She was also the second-longest reigning monarch in the world only behind King Louis XIV of France.

The Queen of the World

In more ways than one, HRH Queen Elizabeth II was the Queen of the World. She led her kingdom and the Commonwealth through the end of the second World War, through the late 20th Century, and into the 21st, even through the COVID-19 pandemic. She was the Queen of the World and despite Britain’s History of Colonization, she managed to hold together a monarchy that was amongst many more that crumbled. HRH Queen Elizabeth II was the Queen of All and she deserves a great deal of respect and gratitude for her stellar service.

Duty, Dignity, and Service

HRH Queen Elizabeth II was a woman of duty, dignity, and service. Unlike any other monarch in modern history, Queen Elizabeth II held down her throne and ruled the British Empire through some of its murkiest times. She was a queen who devoted her life to her people and the people of the world. She beat all odds to see the British Monarchy transition into the 21st Century, albeit and despite a lot of controversies over the years.

Prince Charles is the New King

HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s first son, Prince Charles, is now set to become king and take hold of the British throne and all its responsibilities. Prince Charles has in the past been seen as an indecisive brute but is now tasked with taking the helm of the largest and longest-running throne in modern history. The question of whether he is up to the task remains unanswered but he has been prepared all his life to take the mantle from his mama.

Remembering Queen Elizabeth II for Her Successes and Not Failures

The death of HRH Queen Elizabeth II has been met with a lot of internet trolling especially from the former colonies of Britain. Even so, it is important to remember that Queen Elizabeth was born into aristocracy and did not actually begin or propagate the mistakes of her ancestors; chief among which was the enslavement of black people and colonialism.

May Her Royal Highness Rest in Eternal Peace

I wrote a letter to Queen Elizabeth some time back detailing how an average African felt about her and the decisions she has made in her reign. That, however, does not negate the good she has done for the U.K. and the world. Queen Elizabeth II did her job and did it flawlessly. She maintained an impeccable public image and was one of the most formidable rulers that the British Empire has ever seen.

Queen Elizabeth the Rock of Britain

She was a rock for Britain and brought the entire United Kingdom stability that could only be admired. Rest in Everlasting Peace Queen Elizabeth II and May the Lord Rest Your Soul among the Angels in the Stars. Long Live the Queen! Long Live Queen Elizabeth II.
