Haaland Double as Man City Thrashes Southampton

Man City continue to make their claim at Premier League title retention after beating Southampton in a game that saw star Elring Haaland score a double. City are edging ever close to that coveted spot in the EPL Standings and are keen to make that known to any team coming their way. City's performance puts them a step closer to catching up with Arsenal, who they're slated to play against on April 26th.

Haaland Double as City Thrashes Southampton

Manchester City looked a little bit out of control in the first 25 minutes of their game with Southampton but took back the helm thanks to a Haaland goal in the 45th minute. Haaland hadn't had enough and flew his way to a brace with his second in the 68th minute.

The goal was a fly-kick goal that Haaland celebrated by sitting down in a meditative position like a Sifu, a master of the game like he is.

A Manchester City in Good Form

Manchester City then went on to score two more goals making it 4-1 against Southampton. City's third goal came from Jack Grealish in the 58th minute, his second goal in as many weeks. It was followed by a fantastic penalty kick conversion by Julian Alvarez in the 75th minute.

Southampton Likely Facing Relegation

Southampton only managed a single reply goal which was scored by Sekou Mara in the 72nd minute. They are also still at the bottom of the EPL table with 23 points and are likely to be relegated. Read how relegation into the Championship works below.

Grealish Playing the Football of His Life

Jack Grealish stood out in the match for his impeccable form. He's been on fire lately and it seems that he has truly found a home at Manchester City. Grealish is showing great control of the ball on the left side and isn't shy to make a claim for goal. He is also synchronizing flawlessly with City's forwards including sharp-shooter Erling Haaland, making the two a fantastic duo for City's attacking position.

Will Man City Upend Arsenal's Lead in the EPL?

Very likely so. Man City have, no doubt, a good chance to upend Arsenal's lead in the Premier League. Arsenal are first in EPL standings with 72 points and Man City follow closely in second with 67 points. A goal difference of 5 points, however, isn't much for a juggernaut like City. City could even get three of the 5 points they need when they go head-to-head with Arsenal in GW 33. There were other games played today and you can read the results below.
