EPL Gameweek 31 Results: Spurs, Brentford, and Crystal Palace Dominate with Strong Wins

Gameweek 31 of the EPL kicked off on the 2nd of April with a goal-averse start but took on a life of its own when Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Crystal Palace dominated in their matches scoring 3 goals and above.

Liverpool Hammer Watford as Manchester United Draw Leicester

Liverpool hammered Watford 2-0 as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Leicester on the 2nd of this month. In other games, Brighton drew Norwich City 0-0 and Leeds drew Southampton 1-1.

Manchester City Edge Past Burnley as Chelsea were Dominated by Brentford

In other matches on the 2nd, Manchester City edged past Burnley with a slim lead of 2-0 as Chelsea got their behinds handed to them by Brentford who thrashed them 4-1. The Blues were seeing all blues as the bees stung. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Wolves, on their part, beat Aston Villa 2-1.

Tottenham Dominate Newcastle

Tottenham dominated their match with Newcastle, thrashing them 5-1. It was a beautiful game to watch and Spurs brought half their lineup to the scoring sheet with 5 beautiful goals against a one-goal reply by Newcastle. Son Heung-Ming won the man of the match for his stellar performance. He scored one goal and assisted another as did Harry Kane. Also on the 3rd of April, West Ham edged past Everton 2-1.

Crystal Palace Dominate Arsenal

In another of Arsenal’s flops, Crystal Palace dominated their match with a 3-0 win. Palace was the underdog going into the match but played a match for the books and beat legends Arsenal in a shock win at Selhurst Park. Jordan Ayew, Jean Philippe-Mateta, and Wilfried Zaha scored the goals for Palace. Burnley and Everton will face off today.

EPL Table

The EPL Table has been somewhat shaken by the events of gameweek 31 and is as follows. Manchester City are still on top with 73 points, followed by Liverpool who are a close second with 72 points. Liverpool have a good chance of upending City’s lead and we can’t wait to see how things shape up as we go into the final two months of the EPL this season. Chelsea are, however, a distant third with 59 points and Tottenham have gone up to fourth with 54 points.

Arsenal fell to fifth also with 54 points as West Ham went up to sixth with 51 points. Unsurprisingly, Manchester United fell to seventh also with 51 points, followed by Wolves who are eighth with 49 points. United need a miracle and a new manager and may end up falling below tenth in the EPL table if they continue at this rate. Crystal Palace went up to ninth with 37 points as Leicester remained tenth also with 37 points. It’s been a poor season for Leicester and we wonder where their magic went.
